What they say about Carolina Naturally.

Good job - Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina
Nice blog - Offenbach, Germany
Love it - Budapest, Hungary
Scots Wae Hae - Edinburgh, Scotland
I like it - Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Keep telling it like it is - Woodbridge, Massachusetts
No wingnuts need apply - Bellingham, Washington
See, there is truth on the internet - Liverpool, England

How are we doing, you ask

With well over 100M blogs currently on the net we here at Carolina Naturally were pleasantly surprised to find we are sitting at the number 20,535th highest ranked blog ... which makes us one of the top 1% of all the blogs.

Thank you ... is really not quite a good enough phrase for our readers to express our gratitude that our humble little ol'blog is being so well received.

When we started on this journey a few years ago we hoped that we might have one reader but were prepared for none. The response has been great and to use that inadequate phrase ... Thank You.

Various news stories of the serious as well as the not so serious stripe thrown in with science tid-bits, editorials and cartoons, music and social commentary all served up with sardonic wit and honesty with just a hint of sarcasm to add flavor to the stew seems to be what people what to read.

Thus, Carolina Naturally was conceived and maintains ...

(On another note, our sister blog The Naked, The Nude and The Nekkid which is of the same vein albeit trending for a more mature audience ranks 20,738th. Not too shabby for a couple of our blogs to be in the top 1% now is it?)

Breast exams on TV: Service or stunt?

I'm going with both. It is a service to men and women to demonstrate the proper way to perform a self breast exam. Of course, it is a 'stunt' this is America and a bare breast seen on television is pushing the envelope to the extreme - it shouldn't be, but with the 'watchdog' puerile perverts (who are already howling about it) trying to impose their warped views on the rest of us the only thing worse would be for TWO bare breasts to be seen on TV.

Breast exams on TV: Service or stunt?

A D.C. station's uncensored series on breast self-exams breaks a longstanding taboo.

"Consumer spending plunged in September"

So, the economic roller-coaster ride continues:
Consumer spending plunged in September by the largest amount in nine months, reflecting the end of the government's Cash for Clunkers auto sales program. Incomes, the fuel for future spending, were flat.

While the government reported that the overall economy grew in the July-September period, signaling the end of the worst recession in seven decades, the weakness in spending and incomes as the quarter ended underscores the fragility of the recovery
Obama really did inherit a mess from the shrub. And, the shrub's repugican comrades who helped created the mess have barely lifted a finger to help Obama fix it.

Daily Horoscope

Today's horoscope says:

You need to try to rein in your increasingly self-indulgent ways today.
Keep driving right on past the shopping mall: cook dinner yourself instead of going out for pizza, and do you really need another spa day?
It's a wise time to eliminate your excessive spending and get back to a simpler way of living.
When you take a little bit of a break from pampering yourself for a while, you will appreciate it all the more when you go back to treating yourself like a rock star.

If I have to.
